Food Inflammation Testing

The FIT Test assesses your inflammatory reaction to the most common foods

Food inflammation testing (fit) at huemn

Food driven inflammation affects more than 100 million people worldwide, and can actually be the root cause of a wide variety of chronic and acute health conditions. From autoimmune diseases to irritable bowel syndrome, food inflammation can pose detrimental impacts to your overall health. Food inflammation is different from that of food allergies and intolerances, as the inflammatory reaction caused by food can actually damage the integrity of your gut lining, leading to intestinal permeability, or Leaky Gut Syndrome. This can set you up for a myriad of chronic and debilitating conditions, many of which are incredibly difficult to diagnose and treat. The solution? Test, don’t guess!

The FIT Test is a patented, multi-pathway, delayed food inflammation test. This test utilizes technology that measures both IgG and Immune Complexes, the most common food-related pathways in the body. This is a unique test, as it measures the adaptive AND innate immune system response, which can detect the body’s inflammatory reaction to foods. At huemn, we offer three different versions of the FIT Test, depending on how many foods you would like to test. We offer the Fit 22, Fit 132, and the Fit 176. To learn more about these tests, see the video.

Food sensitivity vs. food allergy vs. food intolerance

Food Sensitivity: immunological reaction to food (IgA or IgG-mediated), can cause long-term damage to the gut lining, as the inflammatory reaction contributes to intestinal permeability (Leaky Gut).

Food Allergy: immunological reaction to a food (IgE-mediated), Type 1 Hypersensitivity that often causes immediate symptoms like anaphylaxis, hives, throat itching, etc. Think: peanut allergies

Food Intolerance: non-immunological reaction to food. Can cause unwanted symptoms like digestive distress, due to the body’s inability to digest the food and/or food group. Think: lactose intolerance.

WHAT SETS THE FIT TEST APART from others?

Many other food sensitivity tests are merely exposure tests, which can often render false positives. This is why many people find that their food sensitivity test results depict a list of foods that they frequently eat. The FIT Test is different; however, as it tests for the inflammatory reaction to the food. See the video above (09:30) for more.

This test measures food sensitivities for up to 176 different foods and food additives, and can give you invaluable insights into your health.  What’s more, is after your FIT Test results are ready, we provide you with a meal plan to acclimate to your “safe” food list, so that you don’t feel deprived or overwhelmed by the elimination of commonly enjoyed foods.

FIT 22: tests 22 of the most common food sensitivities

FIT 132: tests 132 diverse foods that are commonly consumed

FIT 176: tests 176 foods and is the most comprehensive test available

The FIT Test can be purchased in our store, and the finger-stick blood draw can be completed at home OR in store, with the assistance of a huemn team member. To find out which test is best for you, please contact us via email, or at 832-779-1673.
