Interview with Olympic Athlete Antoine Adams - 11x National Champion in the 100 meters and 200 meters

Here at Cryo Recovery we interviewed the eleven times National Champion in the 100 meters and 200 meters, Antoine Adams about his training and the use of Cryo Recovery.  Check out what he had to say about Cryo Recovery.

Q: As an elite athlete how critical is the recovery part of your training?

A: For me, recovery is the most important part of my training. If you are not recovering properly, then your progress and development will be slow. Poor recovery can also lead to injuries. The athlete that recovers better is usually always one step ahead physically.

Q: What are your current goals and how does recovery play into these goals?

A. My goal is simply to run really really fast. In my sport, fast times rule. If I had to be specific, then 9.90 over 100m and 19.90 over 200m are my short term goals. To run this fast, it takes a lot of speed and power training. These type of workouts can put a lot of pressure on joints and cause extreme muscle soreness. Recovery has to be strategically planned in order for the body to get the most out of training.

Q: What are your favorite recovery modalities at Cryo Recovery?

A. I honestly love all of them haha. If I had to put them in order of preference, I would start with whole body cryotherapy and then hop in the bed for some LED light therapy. That bed is magic! Local therapy then lets me focus on a specific area which is absolutely awesome. I would then mix in some Normatec recovery which just gives the legs and arms a brand new feeling.

Q: Why did you choose Cryo Recovery for your recovery?

A. When I reached out to the owner Bill, he was very professional and understanding of my recovery concerns. The staff is very professional and friendly, and the atmosphere is relaxing. I was also interested in trying the local therapy and LED light bed, which is probably the only one in Houston to my knowledge. The LiveO2 training system is also something that I know will definitely give me an edge over my competitors once I start the full program.

Q: How often do you come into Cryo Recovery?

A. I try to come in at least three times a week especially after intense workouts. This schedule has proven to work best for me. Since I started coming in my performances, have improved and my body has been healing better thus minimizing injuries. CryoRecovery helps me recover better to perform at my best always.

Thank you, Antoine Adams, for this interview with Cryo Recovery!
